Tandem Gas Chromatography - Mass Spectrometry Analysis of Volatiles From Soybean Oil
نویسنده
چکیده
A time vs. volatile decomposition studY was made on commercially available soYbean oil aaed d • '" un er normal laboratory room conditions. Samples were taken at weekly intervals for peroxide v.alue (PV) determinations, organoleptic evaluatIOns and volatile analyses. Volatiles, stripped from the oil samples in an all-glass system devoid of connecting joints, were collected and sealed in attached capillary tubes. The encapsulated compounds were introduced into a tandem gas chromatograph-mass spectrometer via a capillary crusher. All collections. transfers or introductions of volatiles were performed without the aid of solvents. Hydrocarbons and, subsequently, aldehydes were the principle volatiles associated with the initial and intermediate staaes of sovbean oil autoxidation (PV 0-11). A variety of other compounds were also found as the level of autoxidation increased. Identified compounds, PV's and organoleptic evaluations are correlated.

Analysis of flavor volatiles of some Iranian rice cultivars by SPME-GC-MS
A combined gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC–MS) with headspace solid-phase microextraction (HS-SPME) method has been employed for the analysis of the flavor volatiles of some Iranian rice cultivars (Domsiah, Deylamani, Hashemi, Shirodi and Tarom). The samples were grown in different cities of Mazandaran province. The sampling procedure and chromatographic conditions were same for all sa...
متن کاملUnstable simple volatiles and gas chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry analysis of essential oil from the roots bark of Oplopanax horridus extracted by supercritical fluid extraction.
Volatile oil from the root bark of Oplopanax horridus is regarded to be responsible for the clinical uses of the title plant as a respiratory stimulant and expectorant. Therefore, a supercritical fluid extraction method was first employed to extract the volatile oil from the roots bark of O. horridus, which was subsequently analyzed by GC/MS. Forty-eight volatile compounds were identified by GC...
متن کاملSimultaneous Analysis of Metabolite Residues from Degradation of Dithiocarbamates in Cereals Using Liquid Chromatography Coupled with Tandem Mass Spectrometry
Background and Objectives: Dithiocarbamates are groups of fungicides used to control pests of agricultural products. Analysis of these pesticides with liquid and gas chromatography instruments is associated with various problems due to the presence of metal groups in the structure of these compounds. Therefore, one of the ways for analysis the pesticides is to check the level of decomposition...
متن کاملAssessment of Flavor Volatiles of Iranian Rice Cultivars during Gelatinization Process
ABSTRACT: A combined gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) with headspace solid-phase micro extraction (SPME) method has been employed for the analysis of the flavor volatiles of three different rice cultivar, including two modified Iranian rice cultivars and Hashemi rice cultivar during gelatinization. The proposed combination provided a powerful system for easy and rapid screening of a...

A novel analytical approach has been developed and evaluated for the quantitative analysis of a selected group of widely used pesticides (dimethoate, simazine, atrazine, diuron, terbuthylazine, methyl-parathion, methyl-pirimiphos, endosulfan I, endosulfan II, endosulfan sulphate, cypermethrin and deltamethrin), which can be found at trace levels in olive oil and olives. The proposed methodology...
